Civil Engineering

Project Engineer, Barton & Loguidice

"My experience at Syracuse University gave me such a well-rounded preparation, not only for my life as a professional in the engineering field, but for living a successful life in general. The curriculum gave me a broad education in civil engineering, really leaving it up to me to pick and choose electives that spoke to me & what I was interested in pursuing in the future outside of the classroom. I felt with every year, I gained more knowledge that allowed me to gain internships which taught me even more about what life would look like working in different facets of the field of civil engineering. Outside of the technical aspects, going to SU helped me find my voice, build my self-confidence, and provided opportunities that allowed me to build my interpersonal skills. I walked onto campus as a very shy, timid freshman and by the time graduation rolled around, I was on stage speaking to my fellow classmates giving a speech as one of the two 2018 College Marshals. I was aware very early on in my college career that it was so important to take advantage of every opportunity that presented itself to me. I’m so grateful for not only my education, but the people I met and the lessons I learned throughout my time on campus because it shaped me into the woman I today: confident in my ability to be professional, knowledgeable, and approachable both inside and outside the office."
