The Writing Center
Whether it be brainstorming or editing, the Writing Center can help students with all writing projects at any stage of the writing process.

Center for Disability Resources
The Center for Disability Resources arranges for auxiliary aids, assistive technology, and reasonable accommodations for all qualified students with documented disabilities.

Hendricks Chapel
An interfaith chapel that offers support, services, and programs specific to a variety of spiritual or religious traditions.

Office of Multicultural Affairs
OMA supports and promotes the academic achievement, multicultural competence, social development, civic engagement, and retention of students of historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups at SU.

LGBTQ Resource Center
The Syracuse University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Resource Center seeks to be a campus and regional leader delivering support, community, and education around marginalized genders and sexualities, and the complex intersections of our multiple identities.

Renée Crown University Honors Program
This program provides a compelling educational experience for academically accomplished and hard-working students. Students who seek academic challenges and are prepared to invest the extra effort required to overcome them will flourish in this demanding and rewarding program.

Study Abroad
Join the nearly 50 percent of students who enrich their college careers through international education. SU Abroad, a nationally top-ranked program, offers semester, summer, short-term, and yearlong options.

Career Services
Graduation will come before you know it, and it’ll be time to get that first job. The University’s Center for Career Services assists you with employment, internship, and graduate school searches and exploring broader career plans. The office tailors services to the needs of all students in all disciplines and at various stages in career planning, exploration, and pursuit.

Additionally, every college is part of the Career Services Network, with qualified advisors who work with students throughout their years at Syracuse to plan their programs of study.

Summer at Syracuse
Students can take courses of interest, or reduce their regular semester course loads during an intensive one- to two-week MAYmester class, during two six-week summer sessions, or by taking a class online.

Summer College for High School Students A six-week program that allows high school students to explore career interests while earning college credit.

Learning Communities These communities allow students to live and take classes with a group of students who have a common interest or academic major.


International Students

Lillian and Emanuel Slutzker Center for International Services
This Center supports international students adjusting to the Syracuse University campus and community. They handle a variety of international student issues, including:

English Language Institute
ELI offers international students concentrated study to improve their English proficiency for academic or professional advancement.

English Language Proficiency Services
The Graduate School provides support services for international graduate students holding TA assignments, including language assessment, zero-credit courses, and undergraduate English conversation partners.

Language Tables
Various international-themed centers and organizations on campus host regular conversation groups through the Maxwell School attracting both native and non-native speakers. Currently, active language tables include Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi-Urdu, Italian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.


Health and Wellness

Counseling and Support  
Syracuse University offers privileged and confidential crisis counseling, referrals, advocacy, and ongoing assistance for students addressing mental health, sexual misconduct and relationship violence, and substance abuse issues. With experienced, licensed mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and a consulting psychiatrist on staff, help is available 24 hours a day.

Health Services 
This office specializes in college health and serves the needs of SU and SUNY ESF students. Their various services include office visits, ambulatory care, laboratory services, allergy treatment, nutrition counseling, and more.


Technology

The Syracuse University College of Engineering and Computer Science Student Shop

  • The Student Shop provides all engineering majors with a dedicated workspace for machining, 3D printing, assembly, and testing of prototypes.
  • We support many undergraduate and graduate courses in the engineering curriculum, assist in entrepreneurial efforts, and facilitate graduate research projects.
  • The Shop makes many SU teams possible, such as Formula SAE, SAE Mini – Baja, and The Rocket Club.
  • The Student Shop is staffed full-time by the Shop Director / Resident Engineer and several specially-trained student employees to assist at peak times and off hours.
  • All students must attend a 1-hour safety training session prior to using the Shop. See the Shop Manager for scheduling.
  • A separate, fully equipped Research Machine Shop staffed by full-time professional machinists provides for the additional needs of The College of Engineering and Computer Science’s research and lab activities, as well as providing support to our Student Shop.
