Connect with ECS Admissions Staff
Schedule a Zoom video chat meeting with Jonathan J. Hoster, ECS Undergraduate Recruitment Specialist, to discuss your interests and questions and learn more about the opportunities that await you at Syracuse! Schedule a video chat meeting.

Access your SU Email and Complete Your Housing Application
After you have accepted your admission to Syracuse, access your SU email account (using the same credentials that you use for MySlice) and look for a message from the Office of Housing, Meal Plan, and ID Card Services. That email will cue you to go to MySlice to complete the Housing application, which will allow you to request housing in a Living Learning Community. We encourage you to consider requesting the Engineering and Computer Science Living Learning Community. You may learn more about Housing.

Register for Classes
In late May or early June, you will receive an email (to your SU email account) from the Engineering and Computer Science Records Office regarding your First Term Enrollment Selections (FTES), which is the process for selecting courses for the fall semester of your first year. On the FTES form, you will indicate any advance credit you expect to receive (from AP, college credit, etc.) and select courses for your first semester. You will also receive instructions for the Math Placement Exam (MPE), which must be completed via MySlice during the summer. The combination of the results from the MPE and the Calculus Readiness Exam (CRE), which you will take in person during orientation in late August, will determine your math placement.

Purchase a Laptop
If you are planning to purchase a new computer, we recommend the Dell Latitude E7490 for Engineering and Computer Science students. This is a recommendation and not a requirementLearn more about the specs of this model.
