Practical Experience

  • Aerospace engineering majors have access to hands-on learning via the Fidelity MOTUS 622i, one of the world’s most advanced flight simulators. Campus laboratories, an Industrial Assessment Center, and subsonic and supersonic wind tunnels enhance learning and provide research opportunities.
  • Get involved in active research projects in design and optimization designed to develop ways to help engineers identify compromises during aircraft product development.
  • The College of Engineering and Computer Sciences has 20 co-curricular organizations and a tradition of active participation in professional societies like the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
  • The five-year H. John Riley Dual Engineering/MBA Program allows you to earn a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and an MBA from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management.
  • The 4+1 B.S./M.S. Program allows you to earn a master’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering one year after successful completion of the aerospace bachelor’s degree.
  • The Aerospace Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Aerospace and Similarly Named Engineering Programs Program Criteria.

Study Abroad

Broaden your perspective and enhance your resume with an international experience through Syracuse Abroad, with more than 100 programs in 60 countries. Students can choose yearlong study in London, a semester in Dublin, Florence, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Madrid, Santiago, or Sydney, and summer opportunities in the Middle East and Strasbourg.

Aerospace students often go abroad to Syracuse University Centers in Florence and Strasbourg, and our World Partner Programs at University College Dublin and the University of New South Wales. Summer programs of interest include Engineering Research Projects in Strasbourg.
