Center for Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing

The Center for Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (CASM) is an interdisciplinary center that will bring together artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, manufacturing processes, optimization and robotics.

CASM will be a hub for hands-on learning and state of the art research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Faculty and students will be able to:

  • Experiment with automation technology: hands-on learning with technology that powers advanced semiconductor manufacturing
  • Invent new packaging and materials: access to advanced design technology to build more efficient 3D memory structures and materials to drive the next generation of chips
  • Optimize production and quality: development of algorithms powered by artificial intelligence to make chip manufacturing more efficient, reliable, and innovative
