The Center for Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (CASM) is an interdisciplinary center that will bring together artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, manufacturing processes, optimization and robotics.
CASM will be a hub for hands-on learning and state of the art research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Faculty and students will be able to:
- Experiment with automation technology: hands-on learning with technology that powers advanced semiconductor manufacturing
- Invent new packaging and materials: access to advanced design technology to build more efficient 3D memory structures and materials to drive the next generation of chips
- Optimize production and quality: development of algorithms powered by artificial intelligence to make chip manufacturing more efficient, reliable, and innovative
